Pre-purchase Tree Report

Compliments Your House Inspection

“Buyer beware, especially if you don’t know what you are looking at”

In today’s world there are fewer people than in our parents’ generation who are avid gardeners, and even fewer who have any idea about the interaction between trees and the hard landscaping on your property.

Purchasing a property, for most of us, will be the largest investment any of us will ever make. Since the “Leaky Building” debacle of the 90’s, house inspection companies have sprung up to enable potential home owners to assess the condition of the building they want to purchase. That’s fine for the house but what about the trees around the property?

That’s where we come in. We can assess the condition of the trees around the property, evaluate the impact they are having or going to have on the structures present and identify any future issues and costs that may arise.

That lovely large Sycamore in the back yard that provides shade to the patio in the summer and light to the house in winter, may not be so lovely when we find that it has significant decay, may fail in the next storm and is going to cost $1000’s to remove. These are things you need to know when negotiating a purchase price so that for a small price you can save yourself significant downstream costs. Forewarned is forearmed.
